TCI has an immediate need for a Database Architect, Eagan, MN. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the possibility of hire. SUMMARY
The Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Architect is responsible for the support of the following: Ongoing configuration, administration, maintenance and implementation support for the Enterprise clients ADDM, ServiceNow CMDB and latest tools/solutions supporting the infrastructure.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in performing on-going discoveries, architecture support and maintenance of ADDM appliances.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving ADDM auto-discovery issues.
  • Support in configuration and monitoring of ADDM to CMDB Sync.
  • Assist in performing on-going maintenance activities to the ADDM appliances such as applying TKU updates, applying OS upgrades, data backup, scan configurations, reporting, security configurations etc.
  • Support in identifying and troubleshooting bDNA CMDB normalization errors; adding normalization rules, cleaning duplicates etc.
  • Support in identifying and troubleshooting CMDB reconciliation errors; fix misidentified devices, unmerged CIs, etc.
  • Assist in configuring/scheduling periodic job to update POS/APC data in ServiceNow CMDB as the source data gets modified.
  • Assist with PCI compliance of ADDM in the PCI environment.
  • Assist with implementation and configuration of Tier 0 ADDM instance.
  • Keep Product Catalog up to date.
  • Integration of ADDM/bDNA CMDB with ServiceNow and provide support for the maintenance and administration for CMDB solutions.
  • Coordinate with clients ServiceNow Subject Matter Experts in the design, configuration, testing and integration of ServiceNow CMDB with the USPS ADDM/bDNA CMDB.
  • Assist in identifying the attributes to be populated in ServiceNow CMDB from ADDM/bDNA CMDB.
  • Facilitate extending the ServiceNow CMDB data-model to accommodate custom attributes that are required by the client’s stakeholders but are not available out of the box in ServiceNow CMDB.
  • Assist in configuring and sending configuration data to ServiceNow CMDB from ADDM/bDNA CMDB in DEV, SIT, CAT, and PROD on a periodic basis.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 10+ years of related IT operational functions.
  • Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Security (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • Architect, design, develop and deploy ServiceNow CMDB/Discovery and Service Mapping solution.
  • Sr. level technical skills and hands on experience with ServiceNow CMDB/Discovery and at least 5 years of experience in CMDB creation, maturity, and maintenance using the ServiceNow platform (live operational experience a must).
  • Proven track record of overseeing and managing an operational space of several million configuration items (large scale corporate exposure).
  • ITIL v3 Foundation Level Certification (or better).
  • At least three years’ experience managing CMDB and IT Asset Management projects and programs within the ITIL framework.
  • Experience in asset and configuration item identification, baseline definition, relationship
  • mapping, and CMDB administration.
  • Knowledge of MS SQL, query-writing, reporting tools (i.e.: Crystal Reports, or a similar industry solution) relational databases.
  • Candidates must have excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving Service Mapping design, development and deployment experiences.
  • Must currently possess a Public Trust Security Clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
