The IT Field Technician position is part of a team that supports and maintains IT systems located at processing plants/facilities and will require travel between sites regularly (within a 100-mile radius). This position will work closely with Facilities Operations personnel, Project Managers and Corporate IT staff to maintain the expected reliability of systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with the administration and troubleshooting of Windows servers, the local area networks, and components. Includes activities such as sizing\installing\troubleshooting network equipment and server hardware.
  • Collaborates with others, as an escalated level of support, to resolve major underlying technology issues which arise within project.
  • Collaborates with others to identify areas of opportunity for cost savings and improvement through integration, automation and enhanced business capabilities.
  • Maintain appropriate controls, documentation, process and business recovery plans for the plant sites, local area networks, and other computer systems.
  • Act as a mentor and provide training to both internal and external support staff when necessary.
  • Assist with obtaining quotes and ordering equipment as needed.
  • Up to 50% travel for field work as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with Windows 10, MS Office and/or O365.
  • 4+ years administering Windows Server 2012/2016 or 2019 and supporting PC’s, laptops, printers, and network devices.
  • 2+ experience installing, troubleshooting and configuring switches and routers.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma.
  • Candidate must participate in On-Call coverage (Site is 24 x7 Operations).
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities and time.
  • Ideal candidate will have strong people skills coupled with being a self-starter.
  • Certifications Preferred: A+, Net+, MCITP.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 50%.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in an Oil/Gas Operations Environment.
  • SCADA, DCS, understanding of Plant systems and operations is a plus.
