TCI has an immediate need for an IT Technician in Chattanooga, TN. This is a Direct Hire opportunity.
SUMMARY
The IT Technician supports and maintains a high-reliability, high-uptime capability for the mission-critical computerized manufacturing, business, telecommunication and administrative systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures the proper operations of the following systems-Windows Servers, EDI, WAN, LAN, desktop PC’s, telephone system, and security system.
  • Administers and troubleshoots the plant’s local area network in a client server, TCP/IP environment.
  • Maintains a database inventory of all data processing equipment.
  • Provides helpdesk services for all systems within the position’s scope of responsibility.
  • Executes data and system file backups according to procedure.
  • Installs desktop hardware and software.
  • Interfaces with vendors for data processing services and products.
  • Modify existing IT system to eliminate process failure mode.
  • Interacts with Corporate IT support to remedy problems existing with respect to the Client/Server environment, WAN, LAN, and desktop applications.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Sarbanes Oxley IT requirements.
  • Installs and maintains floor-based Manufacturing Systems.
  • Interacts with operating department concerning data processing and PLC issues.
  • Supports and troubleshoots all problems associated with the company’s ERP system.
  • Develop and maintain company Intranet.
  • Support offsite facility’s infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain SQL reports and databases.
  • Knowledge of programming languages to combine databases from offsite facility to local site.
  • Understand responsibility for health and safety.
  • Cooperate with outside inspectors and auditors (TS/ISO, OSHA, Magna, etc.) when necessary.
  • Oversees and administers telephone system.
  • Monitors and keeps the division disaster recovery plan up to date.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Information Technology preferred.
  • 2-5 years’ experience (manufacturing experience preferred).
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday 6:00pm to 4:00am.
  • Must have knowledge of personal computer architecture, desktop applications, and overall understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Lotus Notes, data retention software.
  • General understanding/knowledge of SQL basics.
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and present information to suppliers, management, employees, and corporate personnel.
