TCI has an immediate need for a Mainframe Programmer in Louisville, KY. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

SUMMARY
The Mainframe Programmer will review, analyze, and modify programming systems including coding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale mainframe computer system. The Mainframe Programmer will maintain and develop on-line and batch application programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Code new programs, modify existing programs, tests, and documents programs.
  • Perform enhancements to existing systems.
  • Researches, resolves, and documents incident reports and gives time tables for completion.
  • Tests all programs thoroughly following standard guidelines.
  • Gives on-call support to production systems during off hours.
  • Fulfills administrative reporting requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • 2+ years programming experience of which a minimum of 1 year involved analysis.
  • Proficient in Cobol 390, CICS, JCL, TSO, VSAM, SQL DB2, and Xpediter. Abend-Aid strongly preferred. Experience in other relational databases and debugging tools can be substituted.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 2003 and IBM utilities.
  • Demonstrated skills in programming, analysis and ability to work with limited assistance from others.
  • Successful completion of IIA Intro to Insurance Course plus one general insurance course is desired but not required.
  • Training is Systems Analysis and Design is preferred.
