TCI has an immediate need for a Network Operations Specialist in Melbourne, FL. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity.
Please note that this position requires a Public Trust Security Clearance prior to start.
The Network Operations Specialist (NOS) should have a system level focus providing network monitoring and issue analyses within an operations center. One will be utilizing network management and monitoring tools. This position monitors the alarm conditions on the network to proactively identify and minimize disruption and impact to the network, and it is part of a 24x7 network control environment, working shifts including weekends when needed. The ideal candidate will be someone who can react to issues while following documented processes, working with customers and other levels of support to coordinate and resolve issues.
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot network events.
  • Perform an initial evaluation of outages for potential operational impacts to our user community.
  • Perform root cause analysis to determine a plan of action for restoring customer’s services.
  • Operate across multiple internal teams and external telecommunication partners to follow-through with operational processes and improve restoration times.
  • Document Trouble Tickets and Change Requests of all related activities.
  • Work in a 24x7 network control environment, including weekends when needed.
  • Minimum of Associate’s Degree in a related field; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years prior related experience in a Networking, Engineering, or Information Technology field.
  • Experience with domain knowledge of L1 through L4 of the OSI Model.
  • Experience working with Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and Network Management System (NMS) applications used to monitor networked devices.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with little to no supervision.
  • Exceptional customer service support (both verbal and written).
  • Strong problem-solving skills: ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, including attention to detail.
  • CCNA or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with troubleshooting Linux based VHF computer systems.
  • Operational awareness of FAA operations as it pertains to Air Traffic Control.
