TCI has an immediate need for a Network Planning Engineer in Melbourne, FL. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the possibility of hire. SUMMARY

The Network Planning Engineer will support our Government/Military client.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge of Telecommunications equipment installation, configuration and testing standards including TDM, PDH, SDH, SONET, and IP network architecture.
  • Domain knowledge of data protocols including TCP/IP, DMVPN, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, EIGRP, HSRP, IS-IS, LDP, PIM, MSDP, and Ethernet.
  • Conducts network architecture design, feasibility and modeling.
  • Designs, analyzes, plans, and modifies network components and/or software by translating customer requirements and objectives into final product design.
  • Develops and evaluates network performance criteria and measurement methods.
  • Prepares the analysis of the short-term or long-term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years of network engineering experience with IP networks or, a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree with 4+ years relevant experience with IP networks.
  • Understands the fundamentals of IP Routing (i.e., understands what happens in detail from point A to point B in networking and able to explain it).
  • Good with at least one other protocol knowledge.
  • Supporting MPLS, BGP (Experience from T-Mobile, Lumen, Verizon).
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
