TCI has an immediate need for a Partial Remote Senior UNIX/Linux System Administrator in Eagan, MN. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the possibility of hire. SUMMARY
The Senior UNIX/Linux System Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Eagan, MN. This is an on-site position with some telecommute possibilities.
This position is for a weekend shift. Hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am - 8pm and 4 hours during the M-T work days scattered for meetings as needed. The 4 hours will most likely be allowed to be complete remotely, but the Fri, Sat, Sun shifts will be on-site. Initial training will be Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm. Exact details of shift will be discussed during interview
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The Midrange System Administration teams and provide UNIX / Linux System Administration services for an assigned set of applications. The scope includes the full range of system life-cycle phases including, Build, Application /Service Provisioning, Operations and Decommissioning.
  • Roles and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Unix / Linux System Administration
  • Installation and maintenance of OS
  • Contributor to Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
  • User Support / Problem resolution
  • Automating existing processes
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 6 years’ experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience dealing with management of large (>1000 systems) environments
  • Experience with Linux (SuSE and Red Hat)
  • Experience with patch management.
  • Have some understanding with configuration management of large environments, utilizing automation tools such as: Chef, Puppet, Ansible or other configuration management frameworks.
  • Ability to take customer requirements and create scalable configuration models to support them
  • Process Implementation and documentation
  • Experience using Change/Incident Management tools (ServiceNow)
  • Senior in Linux OS Administration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems from the Application tier, through the OS and Network tiers.
  • Unix Shell Scripting
  • Must possess a valid Public Trust Security Clearance or have the ability to obtain one prior to start. TCI will assist with clearance application or transfer.
