Job Description

TCI has an immediate need for several Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Scientist Level II in Louisville, KY.  This is a direct hire opportunity offering benefits and competitive wages.
The PCR Scientist will support Covid Testing in a safe and reputable lab in Louisville, KY.  An ideal candidate will be a recent college graduate from undergraduate to Post Doctorial level with a life science degree in the biological science or related sciences with any knowledge and experience in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).  Additional training will be provided.
  • Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
  • Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
  • Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
  • Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the supervisor, manager or director.
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
  • Ability to release data results, review results, and send reports out.
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology or related field of study is required.
  • PCR experience is required.
  • Experience in clinical CLIA accredited clinical laboratory (ideally with 2+ years in molecular).
  • Strong computer, scientific and organizational skills, strong sense of personal accountability and responsibility.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
  • Ability and flexibility to work 1st shift (7:00am-4:00pm) or 2nd shift (4:00pm-12:00am) where needed.  Shift differential pay is offered.
  • Consent to and pass criminal background and drug screens.
