TCI has an immediate need for a Remote IT Project Manager. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the possibility of hire. The Remote IT Project Manager defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project team; establishes project estimates and maintains budget for our Government/Military client in Herndon, VA.

  • Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects.
  • Takes projects from original concept through final implementation.
  • Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, computer services, and client services.
  • Defines project scope and objectives.
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
  • Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
  • Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.
  • Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
  • Performs all functional duties independently.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in IT Project Management preferably in the area of software application development.
  • A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferred.
  • Understanding of the full lifecycle of a tech implementation - COTS or SW development.
  • Knowledge of Identity-based solutions.
  • Knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies.
  • Knowledge/experience of SDLC practices.
  • Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow).
  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
  • Problem/Risk Management.
  • MS Office Suite.
  • Broad knowledge of project management disciplines as outlined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge.
  • Extensive experience with managing software application development projects of various sizes, including client interaction and meeting facilitation.
  • Extensive experience defining project scope, developing work plans and project schedules, preparing project estimates, developing resource plans, and compiling project status reports.
  • Extensive experience managing heterogeneous project teams composed of resources from multiple vendors/organizations.
  • Extensive experience reviewing software documentation such as requirements specifications, design documents, manuals, test plans/cases, test scripts and test reports.
  • Ability to prepare cost estimates and manage budgets.
  • Oral and written communication skills including presenting to Executive Level Management.
  • Must possess a valid Public Trust Security Clearance or have the ability to obtain one prior to start. TCI will assist with clearance application or transfer.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
