TCI has an immediate need for a Security Engineer III in Suitland, MD. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the possibility of hire. The Security Engineer III will work with OIS leadership and designated staff to develop, implement, and assist with administrative management activities; perform a variety of sensitive administrative duties; assist with cyber-centric investigative activities; and assist with sensitive and complex data-related investigative actions. Specifically, the following will be provided to Census.
  • Provide non-technical review of external cyber threats as identified by Census and provide courses of actions to remediate.
  • Provide external support as requested or in support of reported incidents outside agency to Census social media fusion center on events that have a Census nexus.
  • Conduct external investigations as requested by Census on events defined by Census or required by law.
  • Provide Census leadership updates and presentations on all activities or reports before any outside reporting to other agencies.
  • All findings will be approved before any law enforcement action that involves specific USC 13 and 26 data to support 2020 Census operations.
  • Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities commensurate with a subject matter expert in the field of computer network security as it pertains to computer hardware and software, including understanding various operating systems such as Windows and Unix and network hardware and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge and experience with chain of custody for evidence and log analysis.
  • Experience with log analysis tools that assist with extracting data from logs and finding trends and patterns (Content Deliver Network CDN traffic, database queries, server uptimes, errors).
  • Possessing and maintaining at least one information security certification in the field of information security or digital forensics (such as CISSP, CISM, Security +, CEH, GSEC, etc.).
  • Remote work is possible for the right candidate.
