TCI has an immediate need for a Senior UNIX/Linux System Administrator in San Mateo, CA. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the probability of becoming permanent. Please note that this position requires US Citizenship and a Public Trust Security Clearance prior to start.

This position does allow for flexible remote work, but candidates MUST live within a reasonable driving commute distance to San Mateo, CA. You will be required to be on-site for the first few days to pick up equipment and ensure that all access is available. In addition, you will be required to report on-site as needed.

SUMMARY

Senior UNIX/Linux System Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Where you will join the Midrange System Administration teams that provides UNIX / Linux System Administration services for an assigned set of applications. The scope includes the full range of system life-cycle phases including, Build, Application Service Provisioning, Operations and Decommissioning. In addition to normal administration duties this position will include working with the Disaster Recovery team to include support and testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Midrange System Administration teams that provide UNIX / Linux System Administration services for an assigned set of applications.
  • The scope includes the full range of system life-cycle phases including, Build, Application /Service Provisioning, Operations and Decommissioning.
  • Unix / Linux System Administration.
  • Installation and maintenance of OS.
  • Contributor to Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
  • User Support / Problem resolution.
  • Disaster Recovery testing and support.
  • Support and participation in Disaster Recovery testing and activities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree and minimum of 6 years experience as a Unix/Linux Administrator. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience dealing with management of large environments.
  • Experience with Linux (SuSE and Red Hat).
  • Have some understanding with configuration management of large environments, utilizing automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible or other configuration management frameworks.
  • Ability to take customer requirements and create scalable configuration models to support them.
  • Process Implementation and documentation.
  • Experience using Change/Incident Management tools (ServiceNow).
  • Senior in Linux OS Administration.
  • Experience Setting up and Administrating a Disaster Recovery Environment for Monthly testing.
  • Experience with Control M, setting up, Administrating and monthly handling.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems from the Application tier, through the OS and Network tiers.
  • Unix Shell Scripting.
  • Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance prior to start.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise with custom AutoYaST and Kickstart deployments.
  • Expertise with SMT and custom patch solutions for SuSE and Red Hat systems.
  • Expertise Ansible / Anisible Tower.
  • Expertise with Cassandra.
  • Expertise with Oracle CRS (installation/configuration/maintenance).
  • Experience with Kafka.
  • Experience with Hadoop.
  • SOX/PCI Compliance Management.
