TCI has an immediate need for a Software Developer in Indiana or Ohio. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the probability of extension and possibility of hire. This position requires US Citizenship and a DoD Public Trust Security Clearance.

Must live with-in 2-3 hour commute to Cleveland, OH, Columbus, OH, or Indianapolis, IN.  Work is primarily remote, but some on-site support may be necessary.

SUMMARY

The main function of the Software developer includes on-going continuous production support, pre-release implementation testing, actual implementation of new releases to production, and post-implementation support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and document defects against defined business rules and system requirements throughout the systems development life-cycle.
  • Analyze complex situations and recommend solutions to the client.
  • Attend daily stand-up meetings with project team and provide detailed analysis when requested.
  • Provide daily, month end and fiscal year end support to operations, customers, users and system interface partners.
  • Monitor, research and resolve daily production trouble incidents using ServiceNow ITSM.
  • Perform testing of implementation scripts and actual implementation of software releases into production.
  • Use Oracle PL/SQL to create, modify, and maintain production scripts. Develop SQL queries for extracting data and performing requested analysis of data.
  • Monitor system performance and make recommendations for tuning PL/SQL code and Oracle database layer to improve performance.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 6 + years of software development experience required.
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent training required.
  • Experience with Agile or Waterfall is required. Specific experience with ServiceNow ITBM Agile Development is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL and ability to write scripts to query databases. Oracle 12c or higher.
  • Strong working knowledge of UNIX, UNIX shell scripting and crontab scheduling.
  • Experience with use of version control software. Specific experience with Subversion/Eclipse for software version control is desirable.
  • SFTP File Transfer set-up knowledge.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Must currently posses or have the ability to obtain Public Trust Security Clearance.

Preferred Requirements

  • Knowledge of IT Service Management practices is beneficial. Specific experience with ServiceNow ITSM (IT Service Management) is desirable.
  • Database administration/tuning skills would be very desirable
  • CompTIA Security+ certification is a plus.
