Job Description
TCI has an immediate need for a Software Engineering Technician in Las Cruces, NM. This is not a C2C opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity.
NOTE: This position requires US Citizenship and an ACTIVE DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
SUMMARY
The Engineering Technician will be part of a team to provide 24/7 operational support for mission critical systems that contribute to our national security. The Engineering Technician will work closely with other OEMs in a technical climate to monitor and maintain information systems.
An ideal candidate will have a passion for mission success, good communication skills, and strong willingness to learn. Experience supporting help desks for Windows and UNIX based systems is desirable, however candidates with applicable experience are encouraged to apply since training will be provided during the onboarding process.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor, operate, and maintain UNIX and Windows based applications.
- Monitor V-Sphere virtual hosts.
- Perform troubleshooting and anomaly resolution on site.
- Escalate issues to lead engineers on site when needed and work with them resolution of issues.
- Monitor network connectivity of UNIX and Windows systems.
- Maintain daily logs of activity to ensure continuity of operations.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting help desks, system administration, networking, or IT operations.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 network operations environment.
- 2 years of experience with UNIX and Windows based operating systems.
- 3 years of experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with Solaris/RedHat Unix and Microsoft Windows Server platforms.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
- DoD 8570 compliant, CompTIA Security+ certification.
