TCI has an immediate need for a Software Engineer in Raleigh, NC. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the probability of becoming permanent. This role supports our Government/Military sector client in Raleigh, NC. This is not a remote work opportunity.
The Software Engineer will be responsible for triage of issues and developing proactive processes as well as maintaining Windows based endpoints and Software Distribution systems in a large enterprise environment. The ideal candidate is technical in nature and will support the clients Desktop Computing team primarily working with the Software Distribution Services team.
  • Proficient in design, operation and troubleshooting of Microsoft System Center (SCCM) and System Center Operations Manager.
  • Demonstrated ability in design, operation and troubleshooting Adaptiva products, including Adaptiva OneSite and Adaptiva Endpoint Health.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability to script (batch files, VBScript, PowerShell, Python) to resolve and proactively prevent Windows workstation issues.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and triage complex Windows workstation issues, including automating proactive health processes.
  • Experience in deployment and maintenance of productivity tools, including large enterprise implementations of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to remediate security vulnerabilities by distribution of Windows Updates and application specific patches using multiple distribution tools.
  • Software and hardware troubleshooting skills to resolve issues arising due to Windows 10 Operating system.
  • Ability to build, create workstation images and provision using Microsoft System Center and Intune. Deploying OS version updates to mirror the cadence of Microsoft’s Windows 10 Semiannual release channel.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator in an Enterprise environment working with SCCM.
  • Previous experience working with Adaptiva technology in design, operation, and troubleshooting including Adaptiva OneSite and Endpoint Health.
  • Working knowledge of networking technologies including IPV4 and migration to IPV6 networks.
  • Ability to automate driver and BIOS updates for Windows based PCs.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, including Group Policy development and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of application packaging methodologies including customization of installation packages, creation of MST files for customized deployments of Windows Installer packages for distribution via Microsoft System Center.
  • Image creation, image deployments, configuration file creation and management, packaging, primary contact to stakeholders and vendor partners for deployment.
  • Provide advanced support for all production failures as assigned and support and comply with company problem management standards and processes.
  • Perform application development, enhancement, and maintenance support for application code for services ranging from simple to extremely complex.
  • Reporting, interpreting data, analyze results using analytics, research methodologies, and statistical techniques.
  • Develop and implement data analyses, leverage data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality enhancement, and support activities at a task level, as assigned.
  • Ability to use ServiceNow for Change Management and Incident tracking.
  • Must possess a valid DoD Public Trust Clearance or have the ability to obtain one. TCI will assist with transfers of clearance.
