Job Description
TCI has an immediate need for a QA Tester in Indianapolis, IN. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the possibility of hire. The Software Tester/Analyst creates test plans, performs tests, and documents and communicates software testing results. Ensures completed software meets established standards. Validates end user documentation.

SUMMARY
The Software Tester/Analyst creates test plans, performs tests, and documents and communicates software testing results. Ensures completed software meets established standards. Validates end user documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan test approach based on business requirements.
- Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
- Manually test any new software to ensure functional requirements, system compliance and technical specifications are adhered to.
- Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments.
- Create / maintain databases of known test defects.
- Work across departments to validate actual test results against expected results.
- Review and document defects against business documentation throughout the systems development life-cycle.
- Verify and revise quality assurance standards as needed.
- Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
- Analyze complex situations and recommend solutions to the client.
- They will interface with the development teams and client business analysts as required.
- They will participate in system requirements reviews, critical design reviews, test readiness reviews and pre/post implementation reviews as part of the defined system development life cycle.
- Recommend areas for process improvement.
- 6+ years’ experience Quality Center 10 or higher and/or ALM
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required and some business/functional knowledge and/or industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience using Unified Functional Testing software for automated testing is a plus
- Experience with test scripts, software testing.
- Software testing experience in a Web-based or Windows client/server environment required.
- Experience in development and/or database administration experience using a Oracle product required.
- Ability to read and write at least one programming language such as PL/SQL
- Knowledge of software quality assurance practices, with strong testing aptitude.
- Knowledge of personal computer hardware may be required.
- Must have a solid understanding of software development cycle. Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance prior to start.
