TCI has and immediate need for a VMware Systems Engineer in San Antonio TX or Findlay, OH. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity. This position will be on-site in Findlay, OH or San Antonio, TX - Not a remote opportunity.
SUMMARY
The VMware Engineer will design, implement, secure, and maintain VMware vSphere and Windows environments. The position will work with a wide variety of network and operations related issues in a VMware/Microsoft Enterprise computing environment. The candidate will manage and provide Tier-II support of our Enterprise Corporate VMware Infrastructure.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Tier-II management and support of our VMware environment and associated systems to include:
    • Build and manage new virtual servers and templates.
    • Build and manage platform runbooks and processes.
    • Plan and work with managed service providers (MSPs) to perform platform upgrades.
    • Develop or mature processes and procedures to support our day-to-day operations.
    • Perform workload migrations across multiple environments and data centers.
  • Competency in writing and maintaining custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower downtime due to required human intervention.
  • Provides consulting, guidance, and ownership as appropriate to project teams, business analysts, service delivery personnel, clients, and management.
  • Can manage multiple project tasks at a given time.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5 years of experience administering VMWare vSphere administration 6.0+ in an Enterprise Environment.
  • Experience with VMware: vCenter; PowerCL; Site Recovery Manager (SRM)
  • Physical server hardware build experience required to support ESXi installations.
  • Exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex problems and propose practical solutions.
  • Proficiency in architecting and deploying infrastructure technology solutions in large-scale environments.
  • Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.
DESIRED (Nice to have) SKILLS
  • VMware vRealize Operations(vROps) Manager experience preferred.
  • VMware vRealize Log Insight experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Active Directory administration experience preferred.
  • Enterprise storage array (e.g. EMC, NetApp) storage experience preferred.
