TCI is seeking a Windows Systems Admin for a contract job in Alpharetta, GA.

The Windows System Administrator will  support the day to day operation of the divisional Windows 2012/2016 servers and network equipment. This position requires hands-on TCI has an immediate need for a Windows Systems Administrator in Alpharetta, GAThis is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the probability of becoming permanent. SUMMARY
The Windows System Administrator will support the day to day operation of the divisional Windows 2012/2016 servers and network equipment. This position requires hands-on experience with IP network addressing, VMWare, Active Directory, Group Policy, Firewalls, patching, Routers and switches (VLANs).
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for updating and maintenance of VMware and associated virtual servers as well as insuring support for software/hardware renewals for critical IT equipment (VMWare, VOIP system, SANs, servers, etc.).
  • Responsible for maintenance of LAN/WAN devices, VMWare servers, and AD (Active Directory); this includes new users, groups, and rights, Server hardware to include: SAN, Vault, Disk/JBOD, RAID, etc. configuration & triage.
  • The Windows System Administrator will assist in the development and maintenance of network communications & documentation.
  • Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks.
  • Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.
  • Update and maintenance of the network design, implementation, and security (this includes monitoring, the overall health of servers, network devices, switches, and firewalls).
  • Responsibilities also include overall WAN architecture and maintenance. Configure & troubleshoot network printing, DNS, DHCP, local & remote user access (e.g. VPN).
  • Collect and review server logs, monitor capacity. 
  • Additionally, the individual must be able to specify and order needed network servers, to include building, patching, maintenance and repair.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Requires a minimum Associate’s Degree in a related field and 4 years of experience or 6+ years of experience in the field without a Degree.
  • Previous hands-on experience with networking and troubleshooting, including AD (Active Directory) TCP/IP networking, and application traffic.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working with Dell Servers is required.
  • A current industry certification is required (examples include CCNA, MTA, MCSA or MCSE). 
  • Individual must be able to work independently as well as being able to work from instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Works without immediate supervision and typically reports to the IT Director/Manager.
  • After hours support may be required.

At least 6 years’ experience with networking and troubleshooting, including AD (Active Directory) tcp/ip networking, application traffic. A current certification (examples include CCNA, MTA, MCSA or MCSE) is required.  Must be able to work without direct supervision.  Minimum of 4 years’ experience working with Dell Servers required.
